A GOODIE

A goodie is a gift, a present, something you don't expect or think of. So this is a real goodie - used too few times to remember it, used too often to forget it, so we're showing it to the world and make it well known or even more famous among all those other symbols you can see in every circuit diagram of even the smallest pocket radio or the largest computer. As these two devices don't even HAVE one of the following part, we think it is rather our mission to mention it:

So: who did ever think there was a circuit symbol for a bell in the world ? We didn't. The surprise was big, and fun was great to see that there was one device working as an alarm with its circuit symbol looking like a bug. Let's get sentimental and watch this little ringing bug for a while. Nowadays replaced by those ugly-sounding piezo beepers that scratch over the roots of our nerves, a bell sounds rather ancient, but still it might remind us of our home, a fireplace, our mother in the kitchen and so on.
